My Integrative Approach

As a qualified Integrative practitioner I blend established therapies and tailor a unique and holistic approach for each of my clients, based on their individual needs and their personal history

Some people come to me as they want to be heard and explore their thoughts and I offer a safe space where you can talk freely. Other people need more active help in making sense of things.

Here are some of the approaches I use in my Integrative Counselling, however, I believe that for all of them, the trusting deep relationship between the client and the counsellor is the key to a successful therapy

I believe that there is no one approach that fits all of us.

You are the Expert of your unique needs and your inner strengths

This is the key principle of the Person Centred Therapy that is the underlying approach I use with my clients.

However, sometimes our ability to be our true self and fulfil our potential is blocked or distorted. This can result in a variety of issues such as low self-esteem, anxiety, addiction and so on.

If you decide to work with me, I will provide a supportive, caring and non judgemental space where you can feel free to explore issues and learn to know and trust yourself.

This will be done at your own pace and using the resources that work for you.

When you need a more collaborative approach...

If you feel trapped in a vicious cycle of negative thoughts, feelings and behaviours, we can work together by breaking down the issues into more manageable parts.

We can integrate elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to explore the negative patterns and find ways to improve your state of mind with tools that work for you and you can use on a daily basis. Within this process you will gain some insights, that will help you see things differently and understand how to move forward with autonomy.

If you need a safe space for your loss...

Losing someone we love or dramatic changes in our life can leave gaping holes. The world will carry on and sometimes we are not allowed to grieve, while we still have strong sensations of pain and absence.

It is important to find ways and space to express the range of intense emotions you are going through, come to terms with your loss and adjust to a life that grows around your grief.

Feelings of despair are normal after a loss, but if you are no longer coping, I can offer you a safe space and support you in your journey.

If you want to change the way you relate to others

Many clients want to explore and resolve issues they have in relating with themselves and others, like friends, family, partners and their world.

By integrating some elements of Psychodynamic Therapy we can explore your attachment style, the repetitive behaviours and emotional conflicts from the past, that have an impact on your present relationships.

Bringing the unconscious scripts from our early years into awareness, allows you to understand some patterns and gives you the freedom to decide how you want to move forward.

When you want to be more in the present...

When we are overwhelmed with worries, negative thoughts and anxiety about the future, Mindfulness allows us to be in the present and awake a deeper connection to ourselves. We become more adaptive, tolerant to the unknown and emotionally resilient.

Our body sensations are resources to develop a healthy mind and a more balanced sense of wellbeing. Mindfulness is an invaluable tool we can integrate in our counselling and daily independent practice.

If you decide to work with me, we can bring Mindfulness techniques in our counselling space and your life

When you struggle with excessive anxiety

Anxiety is a natural stress response triggered in our nervous system. Most of the time we manage our anxiety taking some actions or distracting ourself. But for a number of reasons, we could end up worrying excessively and spiral downwards in a world of anxious thoughts.

With my clients I explore the causes of anxiety, bringing awareness to triggers and provide interventions to reduce the symptoms of anxiety. I also offer and support tools to use in your daily life to restore self confidence and regain a sense of normality
